Final Schedule is now online!

The final schedule is now online, so please feel free to browse and get a taste of what is to come tomorrow.

After a brief introduction to the event Jonathan Ward from Durham University will be kicking us off with  a talk about ‘Substituent effects on TADF molecules’.

This will be followed by Youhei Takeda, who is with us all the way from Osaka University, talking about ‘Syntheses, Properties, and OLED Applications of Novel and Efficient Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence (TADF) Molecules based on a U-Shaped D-A-D Scaffold: The Synergy of Chemistry and Physics’.

Then to close the morning session Thomas Penfold, from the not so far-flung University of Newcastle, will present on ‘The Importance of Vibronic Coupling for Ecient rISC in TADF Molecules’.

After a short discussion and tea break Reinhard Scholz, from TU Dresden, will give some guidance on the question ‘Thermally activated delayed fluorescence – A new route to more efficient OLEDs?’.

Then our very own Andy Monkman will hopefully astound with the exciting topic of ‘Excited states of TADF molecules and how to control them’.

This will lead into arguably one of the most important sessions of the day the free lunch! ( and the football match depending on how people are inclined)

After lunch and learning about England going 2-0 down after five minutes we will get the afternoon session into motion with Mario Berberan-Santos, from the University of Lisbon, on the topic of ‘TADF kinetics and data analysis’.

Peter Gilch, from the University of Düsseldorf, will then present on ‘What Femtosecond Spectroscopy on Thioxanthone teaches us About TADF’.

The final session will then have Fernando Dias, another Durham representative, telling us about ‘Molecular Design for efficient TADF in polymers’.

The workshop will then close with a talk from outside of the academy with Jacob Gavartin, from Schrödinger Inc. telling us about ‘Excitation, fluorescence, dynamics, conductivity and more: Merits and challenges in modelling organic electronics materials’.

The day will then be wrapped up with some closing remarks, feedback (hopefully not in the form of rotten tomatoes) and journeys back home or to the pub.
